It offers a voluntary, expedited pathway to licensure for physicians who qualify."

In short - the IMLC offers a way of obtaining multiple state licenses in a fraction of the time. Often times your locums company will purchase this on your behalf. However, if you get it on your own even sooner, you will be that much more marketable to locums agencies and can often demand a higher rate.
